Driving in Morocco, Tunisia or Turkey with temporary insurance: the country extension option

Heading to the Maghreb or Turkey with your car? From France, your standard temporary insurance covers 35 European countries but not Morocco, Tunisia or Turkey. The solution: the country extension option, available at TempAssur for cars under 3.5 tonnes.

What the extension covers

In addition to the base 35 countries, the extension opens up travel to 7 countries: Albania, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Morocco, Moldova, Tunisia and Turkey. You receive an international insurance card listing these countries this is the document that counts at the border crossing and during checks.

Note: Algeria is not covered

None of our plans, with or without the extension, cover Algeria. To drive there, local insurance must be taken out at the Algerian border. Likewise, Belarus, Iran, Russia and Ukraine are never covered.

How to subscribe

Choose "Car" in our quote tool, your duration (1 to 90 days), then tick the "Country extension" option: the price is adjusted according to the chosen duration. You'll receive your certificate and your international card by e-mail or WhatsApp within minutes handy when preparing to board a ferry in Sète, Marseille or Genoa.
